Etnachta Phrases: Adding Words Exercises
Try chanting the phrase in the frame to the right. Don't forget to chant the melody of the Trope on the syllable where the Trope appears -- this placement indicates the accented syllable.
You may want to start out doing this exercise very slowly. Try chanting one word at a time, then double-clicking the word to hear how it should be chanted.
Press the "Play" button on the Exercise Controls under the window to the right to hear the whole phrase.Press "Play" as often as needed to hear how the phrase should be chanted. Double-click on any word in the right panel and hear just that word.When you think you have learned the phrase, press the "Next Exercise" button in the Exercise Controls and do the exercise.Repeat these exercises until you can chant the displayed phrases without having to think about it.Some may choose to practice by recording their own voice chanting the trope word, phrase, or verse then playing it back to hear themselves and check pronunciation. To record your voice directly on the site, click on the “Record” feature located in the upper toolbar. Once in the “Record” tool, click “Start Recording” and then sing the word, phrase, or verse. When you have finished recording click “Stop Recording.” To play back your voice, click the black triangle (▶) button within the recording oval.When you have reached this level of skill, move on to the next lesson by pressing the "Next" button in the Lesson Navigator below.
