Many communities use a special High Holy Days melody when reading the Torah on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.The chart to the right has all of the tropes used during the High Holidays. You can use this chart to learn the High Holy Day melodies.After you have learned the basic High Holy Day melodies, open a High Holiday reading by going to the Tanach Module and choosing Torah - Holidays and Special Occasions. Once in this section scroll to High Holy Days and click on any of the events you would like to study. Once clicked, your selected text will appear and you can now study directly on the TropeTrainer site.Many students may not need to learn the High Holy Day melodies at this time. You can always come back and learn this lesson later!Press "Next" in the Lesson Navigator below to learn the blessing before a Torah reading.Some may choose to practice by recording their own voice chanting the trope word, phrase, or verse then playing it back to hear themselves and check pronunciation.
